Porcelain Fit for Royalty

In typical Peranakan households during days of old, a different type of porcelain is used for dinner during special occasions. These crockery are usually very colourful and are hand- painted with designs incorporating the rose and phoenix.  The colours come in turquoise green, fuchsia pink, cobalt blue, yellow and purple.

  1. These are so elegant. Surely royal porcelain. I love their colors and beautiful details. You took some wonderful photos. Thank you!

    1. Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. The porcelain has been handed down for generations. Unfortunately, my mother divided the China among three of us sisters, so I got only part of the collection. To make sure it doesn’t get divided further, I have pledged to let my older daughter inherit it after I am gone. I also told her to do the same thing for her children! Only the eldest-born female to get it. :)))))

      1. Wow. The eldest born female is going to be quite lucky to get all the gorgeous pieces 🙂
